We have a new sale starting today at our Boulder Sprouts stores (also at Lucky's, but no time to get into that now), while current sales continue at Vitamin Cottage and Whole Foods. Here's what's appealing to me now.
At Sprouts' new sale through the 31st (happy Halloween!), the big news is the return of a Vitamin & Body Care Extravaganza, with everything in the department 25% off. Excellent chance to stock up on those products you love that otherwise never go on sale. In meat and fish, value packs of voneless skinless chicken breasts are $1.99 a pound, bone-in country style ribs (also pork sholder steak or roast) are very low at $1.49 a pound, stuffed chicken breasts are $2.99 a pound, and previously frozen wild Alaskan sockeye salmon fillets are $12.99 a pound. They also have flash-frozen swordfish for just $6.99 a pound, but I like that to come from the USA, and it rarely does.
In produce, avocado fans will celebrate Hass avocados at 48 cents each (they're conventional, but you're going to peel them anyway). In organic produce, you can get those avocados for 98 cents each, butternut squash is 88 cents a pound, jewel or garnet yams are $1.29 a pound, one pound bags of baby carrots are $1.49 each, five pound bags of red, russet or Yukon potatoes are $3.99 each, and gala, red delicious, or Granny Smith apples are all $1.49 a pound.
Elsewhere in the store, I'm liking select Alexia potatoes BOGO, Seapoint Farms edamame $2 a bag (always good to have in the freezer for the fastest side for an Asian dish), and Voskos Greek yogurts $1 each.
Go Red Sox!
