Food Fit For The Oscars

With the Academy Awards coming up quickly this Sunday, Epicurious has you covered with its Oscar Night Eats if you'd like to celebrate with award-winning food and drink. In a week including Mardi Gras and Lunar New Year, both right after Valentine's Day, I think I'll just roast my organic chicken from Whole Foods' one-day sale today (see the post below) instead.

Oscars Coming Up

So much fun and excuses for culinary partying in just a few days. This Sunday, we have the Academy Awards, typically a finger food and drinks night, followed a mere two days away by Mardi Gras on Tuesday. If you're looking for some ideas for Oscar night, here are few guides to help you out: Bubbles and Bites for Oscar Night from Epicurious, And the Award for Best Snacking  from Whole Foods, and Awards Show Viewing Party Recipes from Food and Wine magazine. Since the emphasis seems to be on appetizers and finger foods for the Oscars, this also strikes me as an event where our new Boulder Trader Joe's could really come to the rescue with its many prepared offerings, sparing the cook a lot of work. Me, I'll probably stick with our more usual type of main course veering towards the healthy side. Boring, I know.
