One-Day Sale At Whole Foods Tomorrow

For tomorrow only, May 1st (happy May Day!), our local Whole Foods stores will have avocados for $1 each.  Since organic isn't specified, I'd assume conventional.  The price at Sprouts is usually a little lower, but the avocados there are also usually smaller.  Here are the details from Whole Foods:

One-Day At Whole Foods Tomorrow

For tomorrow only, the 12th, our local Whole Foods stores will have Hass avocados for $1 each.  These are presumably conventional, since organic isn't specified, and Sprouts has conventional ones for 50 cents each through tomorrow.  But size does matter, and the ones at Whole Foods typically run quite a bit larger than the ones at Sprouts.  So take your pick based on your size and location preferences, since ounce per ounce, it looks like they'll be pretty equal tomorrow.  Here's what Whole Foods says:

Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 12th only:

50 Cent Avocados Starting Tomorrow

Good news, avocado fans. Starting with tomorrow's weekly sale, our Boulder Sunflower will have Hass avocados for 50 cents each. They're conventional, but you're going to peel them anyway. After so many weeks of "sales" of $1.25 per avocado, we're finally seeing a decent price. Next let's hope for three for $1...

Another Whole Foods One-Day Sale

Tomorrow only, our local Whole Foods stores will have organic Hass avocados for $1 each, just in time for your game day guacamole, and $1.50 off their regular price. Sunflower this week has organic Hass avocados for 99 cents each, and Sprouts has them for $1.25, both through next Wednesday. Can't say without seeing them which store is offering the largest avocado for the buck.

New Sale Prices Are Up

Today's new sale prices at our Boulder natural grocery stores are highlighted on the left, along with the deals that end today at the double-ad Wednesday stores. Avocado fans are rejoicing over Hass avocados at 3 for $1 at Sunflower (also 49 cents each at Sprouts, not bad either). There are still some fresh, wild salmon options, and organic produce continues to look good, including winter squash for 99 cents a pound at Sunflower, and kale or zucchini just $1 a bunch or pound at Whole Foods, where 5 lb russet bags can also be had for just $2.50 each. Time to get shopping!

Time For 25 Cent Avocados Running Out

A reminder that the Boulder and Fort Collins Sprouts have Hass avocados for just 25 cents apiece through tomorrow. I might have to eat my words (and more avocados), but this deal is so good, it seems unlikely we'll get a similar one in the sales that start tomorrow. When I stock up today, I'm going to try a novel storage technique that an avocado aficionado friend uses to control their ripening. If as a novice I can get it to work with a modicum of the success she has, I'll definitely report out on the system.
