Busy day today, so this will be practically an outline.
With all sorts of ground meats 25% off at both Sprouts and Sunflower through Wednesday, it's looking like Italian-style beef with polenta from Cooking Light for tomorrow. I'd like this with ground chicken or turkey as well as beef.
Tuesday is our usual reheat of something big made over the weekend, which this week is the chicken posole from Food and Wine magazine. Salad plus tortillas equals quick dinner.
For Wednesday, we'll want some pasta, probably something vegetarian by then, and definitely more of our newly arrived local corn, so linguine with summer succotash from Bon Appetit will be on deck. Organic grape tomatoes are $2 for 10 ounces at Sunflower through Wednesday.
For Thursday, I'm trying something that has nothing about seasonality or sales, ham, mushroom and Fontina frittata from Whole Foods. When Whole Foods tweeted this recipe name earlier in the week, I fell for it without even looking at it. Seeing now that it calls for broiling, I'll adapt away from that, making sure it's well cooked in a nonstick pan. It just sounds too good.
Which gets us through to Friday's planning.
