No Hotline Flyers

I managed to get a parking space in the vicinity of Vitamin Cottage yesterday, only to find that they had run out of the print versions of the new full Hotline sale flyer. Will try again some other time, but meanwhile, you can see an abbreviated version of sales lasting through February 6th at their site here. The full version might also be lurking there somewhere, but on this pretty (but cold!) Saturday, I have so much else to do.

Vitamin Cottage Hotline Hiatus

I made it to Vitamin Cottage, but found that they are again on a hiatus for their full Hotline sales flyer, but not for long. The helpful person at customer service told me they expect the next one on January 1st, which of course is awfully close. She also mentioned there are a few specials for the holidays currently to be found around the store, even without a sale flyer.

Father's Day Coming Up

Father's Day is a bit of a culinary challenge, as taking dad out to dinner doesn't have as much of a following as taking mom out on Mother's Day.  Since dads often have primary grilling responsibilities at home (hope I'm not sounding dated, but this holds true even among twenty-somethings I know), some people like to celebrate the day by taking over the grill.  If you're thinking of doing that, here's a reminder about the grilling guides I mentioned for Memorial Day.  Alternatively, Restaurant 4580 is going to be doing a special Father's Day grill, suitable for those who want to take their dad out, or for those who will be toasting him from afar, be it across the country, across the world, or all the way (hopefully) to heaven.

National Chocolate Cake Day

Oh no, like we really needed an excuse. But tomorrow, the 27th, is National Chocolate Cake Day. And to celebrate, the wonderful north Boulder restaurant 4580 will be selling decadent flour-less chocolate tortes at half price for tomorrow only. (I wonder what "flour-less" means from a place that's well known for being gluten-free-friendly.) Here's what they say:
