Happy National Sandwich Day

Thanks to those fine folks at Mile High on the Cheap for pointing out in their daily email that today is National Sandwich Day, and there are deals to be had. The one appealing to me is sandwiches half price at Modmarket if you say the magic word "Sammy" when ordering. I don't see anything about it on Modmarket's website, but you could always call ahead to be sure.

Lucky's Is Open In Longmont

As previously reported, the new Lucky's Market formally opens in Longmont today at 700 Ken Pratt Boulevard.  So nice to see a real local, independent store doing well.  The article in today's Camera contains the additional news that they have a full service liquor store, Lucky's Wine & Spirits, next door.  Longmont is really hopping these days, and that renovated shopping center will be further enhanced in October with the addition of Modmarket, whose Boulder restaurant is really good for a fresh meal, quickly arriving.

One of the few places I like for a quick bite when not eating something I've made myself is Modmarket, because of their fresh approach to food. Modmarket Free Food Alert

If your plans include being in Denver either this evening or tomorrow, here's a way to celebrate National Pizza Week: with free food at the soft opening of Modmarket's new store (home of those yummy flatbread pizzas as well as other good, fresh food). If you're looking for a fast but fresh meal, maybe before heading out to one of Boulder's fine summer evening events like the Colorado Music Festival or Shakespeare Festival, you might consider the coupon Modmarket is offering through MoneyMailer. Through 8/10 (but it tends to continue), you can get either a pree pizza with purchase of a full size item costing the same or more, or you can get a full size salad or M'rita pizza and a bottle of Barefoot wine for just $10, with the coupon. Might Be Time For A Pizza

Sounds like some showers might start moving in this evening, and rain stays in the forecast into Saturday, so it might be time to bring home a nice big Nick-n-Willy's take and bake pizza. This month's money mailer includes some nice (and unusual) Nick-n-Willy's coupons, like a 16 inch pizza with two toppings for $10.99. The money mailer also continues to include a BOGO flatbread pizza at ModMarket, and has a coupon for $5 off any ticket of $10 or more at the South Side Walnut Cafe. Maybe it's time for some pie, too.

Hope that got your attention. I rarely talk about Boulder restaurants, but this deal is right up my alley. Modmarket is a cool, fairly new eatery in the 29th Street mall with fresh and relatively inexpensive food. The Camera's dining critic liked it, and you can read Rachel Odell Walker's review here. Even better, they have a Money Mailer coupon (you'll need to scan through the group) for a free flatbread pizza with an equal or greater purchase, or 25% off for a group of four, through 2/15. Two people can share a large salad, have BOGO pizzas, $2 glasses of wine, and feast for practically nothing. It's almost not fair.
