1000 Foods To Eat Before You Die
I am just loving Mimi Sheraton's new book, 1000 Foods To Eat Before You Die. Talk about a bucket list (although I'm proud of having a few I can already scratch off). Sheraton was the New York Times dining critic for a number of years way back, and her writing is informed, opinionated, and sometimes hilarious. Her book is a glorious combination of a lifetime of food experience, travel, restaurant and vendor recommendations, with some world history as it influences culinary traditions thrown in to boot. I expected to peruse it quickly, but find myself enjoying it word by word, and wanting to dog ear practically every page.
