A Halibut Amendment

I'm just back from the Pearl Street Whole Foods, where I found that today's $14.99 a pound halibut special is previously frozen fish. While their announcement didn't specify fresh or frozen, they've been so promoting the arrival of the new season (there's a big chalkboard on the sidewalk today about it), I had it in my head that this would be fresh. I still bought a very handsome piece, but this puts a new perspective on Sprouts' price of $16.99 a pound. Sprouts' ad specifies that the halibut is fresh, making that an exceptional price, if the $14.99 a pound fish is frozen. Live and learn.
