A Delicious Novel From Ruth Reichl

Just finished reading Delicious!, the first novel from Ruth Reichl, and want to pass on that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Reichl has been the restaurant critic for both the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times, and also was the editor of Gourmet magazine for a decade. That latter position might explain how the novel is premised on the sudden demise of a well respected food magazine with an illustrious history at the hands of an ignorant corporate owner. It not only involves food, but also cryptography, a magazine library, WWII history, architectural history, James Beard, and a healthy respect for librarians. What's not to love?
