Sorry, just a few ill-formed plans here, with no time. For tomorrow, I'm interested in those really big sea scallops Sprouts has on sale for $9.99 a pound, so something will happen with them. A favorite and very quick option is grilled scallops with tomatoes and olive vinaigrette from Gourmet magazine. No grill required in winter, just a grill pan.
Tuesday is our usual reheat of something big made over the weekend, which this week is potato and root vegetable chowder with bacon from Bon Appetit. So glad Sprouts is continuing to have bulk organic salad mix at just $3.99 a pound for the side salad.
Tuesday will also mark the end of the current sale at Whole Foods, and I definitely want to get more of those $6 Maine lobster tails by the end of the sale, some of which will be on the table Wednesday, possibly back in that pasta dish that was so successful for New Year's Eve (I'm just too short on time to backtrack for that link). Sprouts also has lobster tails on sale through Wednesday, and I need to check out where they come from.
Thursday will be ultra simple. Sprouts' sale through Wednesday on a stock up opportunity, BOGO Near East rice pilafs (also the couscous) has reminded me of an old, easy improv. Just cook the pilaf, saute some diced chicken breast separately, and combine it all when done. Easy or what?
So much to do, so little time.
