Just a reminder to head on out for some fine local, and often organic, produce at today's Farmers' Market from 8 to 2 today. If the crowds or the road construction on that stretch of Arapahoe put you off, also consider the fine farm stands at 75th and Valmont, where you'll find Munson Farm on the northwest corner and Cure Organic Farm on the southwest one.
No real time to say much about dinner plans for the weekend, and they're kind of in flux because of the weather anyhow. So good to see our afternoon rain pattern finally develop, but it causes havoc with dinner grilling plans. I'm hoping we'll be able to grill the fine piece of harpoon-caught (I don't want to picture that admirable, sustainable method too closely) swordfish I picked up yesterday at Whole Foods for $18.99 a pound. A recipe that I don't have time to look up for sautéed zucchini, cherry tomatoes and olives will keep the veggie side indoors in case of rain.
Tomorrow we'll head back to Munson's for more of their fabulous corn for corn and cod chowder from Food and Wine magazine. The confluence of Munson's new local corn season plus previously frozen wild Alaskan cod fillets at Sprouts for $7.99 a pound speaks to me for this one.
No time for more!
