This Week's Hot Grocery Deals (IMHO)

We have a new sale starting today at our local Sprouts stores, while the current ones continue at Whole Foods through next Tuesday, the 13th, and Vitamin Cottage through the 10th, which is getting very close.  Here's what's looking particularly good to me now.

Sprouts will offer us a special 72 hour sale running this Friday through Sunday, with some extra special deals.  The ones that appeal to me are fully cooked 22 ounce racks of baby back ribs at $9.99 a rack (the family griller might get a break this weekend), whole seedless watermelons at 25 cents a pound, and pork tenderloin at $2.88 a pound.

Sprouts regular new sale that starts today runs through August 14th.  In that one, I'm liking grass-fed organic ribeye or New York steaks at $11.99 a pound (boneless natural New York steaks are $7.99 a pound), three types of chicken sausage $2.99 a pound, and fresh wild coho salmon $11.99 a pound (King Soopers is still advertising sockeye for $12.99 a pound with card).

In organic produce at Sprouts, one pound bags of baby carrots remain great at $1.49 each, five pound bags of red, russet or Yukon potatoes are excellent at $2.99 each, bulk baby spinach and spring mix have dropped even lower to $3.49 a pound (often seen at $6.99 elsewhere), pluots and red or black plums are all $1.49 a pound, and one pound clamshells of organic strawberries are $2.98 each.  Elsewhere in the store, I'm liking Crunchmaster's incredible crackers at $2.50 a bag (they're $2.29 at Vitamin Cottage through Saturday, but there were only three bags on the shelf the last time I was there).  Galbani fresh mozzarella cups are just $2.99 for eight ounces, and the big 100 ounce size of Seventh Generation laundry detergent is quite a good price at $12.99 each, but I've gotten addicted to the convenience of Seventh Gen's new little pouches you just toss in, without any dribbly liquid.  They theoretically cost a bunch more per load, but being pre-measured, I think they're coming out equal since I'm no longer putting in too much.
